Accomodation during Wimbledon Tennis Championships
If you are a player, official, sponsor, TV crew, commentator or a spectator looking to rent a flat or house during the Wimbledon tennis championships then you should contact one of the following agencies. These are specialist companies that arrange short-term rentals of providing property within walking distance of the All-England Tennis Club in Church Road, SW19. Typically the maximum walking time is twenty minutes.
Properties range from one bedroom flats to eight bedroom houses and rents vary accordingly from about £750 per week to well over £4,000 per week. Minimum stay is normally two weeks although some landlords will agree to ten nights.
Due to the very high return rate of visitors during the Championships flats in Wimbledon tend to be rented well in advance so make sure you confirm your booking early. .

Wimbledon Tennis Tickets
There are four main ways to legitimately acquire tickets to the Wimbledon Championships without resorting to paying ticket touts .
The Public Ballot
Applications for Wimbledon tickets in the public ballot have to be received by the 31st December. The ballot then takes place in January and applicants are notified in February. To enter the ballot for Wimbledon tickets , send a request for an application form with a self-addressed envelope to: All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, Box 98, Church Road, Wimbledon SW19 5AE England. You need to enclose a stamped and self addressed envelope.
Queuing at the Ground
Each day apart from the last four days of the Championship, 500 ticktes are sold for Centre Court, No 1 and No 2 courts at the turnstiles. This invariably means joining the overnight queue so bring a sleeping bag, tent and provisions. Public toilets are avilable nearby. In addition 6,000 ground access passes are sold each day giving access to courts 3-19 where some great tennis can be seen, especially in the latter half of the first week.
Affiliated Tennis Clubs & Other Federations LTA Affiliated Organisations such as private members tennis clubs are eligible to participate in a private ballot for show court tickets.
Ticket Resale Kiosk
If you are already within the grounds then check-out the Ticket Resale Kiosk where tickets to the show courts that are no longer needed are recycled at a nominal price. In fact, all the proceeds go towards charity which is an excellent idea. The best time to try is around 6pm when many of the corporate guests start to leave.

The Fastest Way To The Tennis Championships
For most people the fastest way to get to the tennis is to travel by South West trains or the District line to Wimbledon Station (main entrance) and then jump in one of the shared taxis from the rank immediately adjacent the station forecourt. Marshalls at the station will direct you accordingly. The taxi journey should take no more than 5 minutes.
How Long Will it Take To Walk To The Tennis Championships?
From Southfields underground station it will take approximately 15 minutes
From Wimbledon Station it will take approximately 20 minutes
Car Parking At Wimbledon Tennis
On street parking is definitely not permitted in any of the streets within half a mile vicinity of the All England Club during the Championships. Offending vehicles are regularly ticketed and removed resulting in a hefty fee for recovery.

Park & Ride facilities are available at Morden Park. Car Parking was £15 in 2008 with free bus shuttle to The Championships. Parking for motorcycles is available in Car Park 4 at a charge of £10.
Bicycles can be parked for free in car parks 6 and 8.
Parking for minibuses is available in car park 4 at a charge of £25 (2008 price) and at the Park & Ride at a charge of £20.
Security At Wimbledon Tennis Championships
In 2008 the AELTA operated a strict one bag per person policy. What’s more, bag size was restricted to 45cm x 30cm x 30cm and they banned any hard-sided items such as picnic hampers, cool boxes or briefcases.
If you must bring such a bag to the event then there is a left luggage facility outside the grounds
